The Perfect Team
Rev. Jane Willan, Minister
Greetings and blessings to you! I am Reverend Jane Willan, and it is my joy and honor to serve as the pastor of this warm and welcoming congregation. Whether you are a longtime member, a newcomer, or just exploring, I want you to know that you are cherished and valued here.
A bit about me: My journey into ministry was inspired by a calling to serve and uplift others, drawing from the teachings of Jesus Christ to foster love, justice, and compassion in the world. I pursued my theological education at Vanderbilt Divinity School, where I developed a passion for progressive theology that emphasizes inclusivity, social justice, and the transformative power of God's love.
In addition to my ministry, I am a published fiction author specializing in cozy murder mysteries. Writing has always been a way for me to explore the human condition and share stories that entertain and provoke thought. My books reflect a blend of my love for storytelling and my deep interest in the complexities of life.
The Congregational Church of Plantsville is a vibrant community with a rich history and a bright future. As an Open and Affirming congregation, we welcome everyone with open arms, regardless of background, beliefs, or life journey. Our members range from young families to seniors, each bringing unique perspectives and gifts. We are passionate about social justice, environmental stewardship, and nurturing a faith that engages with the world around us. Our spectacular coffee hour and amazing fellowship opportunities create a space for meaningful connections and heartfelt conversations.
When I'm not at church, you might find me hiking the stunning trails of Connecticut with my husband, Don, and our adventurous backpacking chihuahua, Ollie. We also share our home with a beautiful cat named Winifred, who firmly believes she is the true head of the household and graces us with her presence on her own terms. I love to read, savor good coffee, and sit on the deck of the parsonage, enjoying the birds and the serenity of nature.
I am always eager to meet new faces and hear your stories, so please do not hesitate to reach out or stop by for a chat. Our doors are open, and our hearts are too. Come as you are, and join us as we grow in faith, hope, and love together.
Welcome to the Congregational Church of Plantsville – where faith meets community, and everyone has a place at the table.
With warmest regards,
Reverend Jane
